Worcester the way we were

This remarkable DVD shows early film of many aspects of local life to paint a fascinating picture of Worcester in the 1920’s, 30’s, 40’s, 50’s and 60’s.

Worcester’s 20th century film highlights include, the 1919 Victory Parade to hail the heroes of the Worcestershire Regiment after their daring exploits in the Great War; busy scenes around The Cross in the late 1920’s with horses and carts, charabancs and motor cars all jostling for space; the opening of Worcester Bridge in 1932 and various carnivals processions and parades passing along streets that have since changed almost beyond recognition.
