A unique collection of old film provides a glimpse into Weymouth’s history and a fascinating look back at life in Weymouth and the surrounding area in days gone by.
Many of the events shown are brought to life by reports of the time from the Southern Times and the Dorset Echo. Among the many aspects of Weymouth’s heritage explored in the DVD are, the heyday of the port; Royal visitors; smugglers tales; the Victorian holiday resort; the Review of the Fleet by George V; Weymouth at war; the origins of long-standing traditions such as Punch and Judy, donkey rides and sand sculptures.
The DVD provides both an entertaining dip into Weymouth’s history, and a nostalgic trip down Memory Lane.
