This superb DVD combines cine-film, old photos and the archives of the Evesham Journal to paint a fascinating picture of life in Evesham over the last 150 years. Among the many local events included in the DVD are the first Evesham Regatta in 1864, the epic floods of 1900 and 2007, the opening and closure of the Evesham and Redditch Railway, the royal wedding in 1907, celebrations for Queen Victoria’s Jubilee and Queen Elizabeth’s Coronation, and various galas and carnivals from the 1930’s to the 1980’s. We also look at the impact of two world wars on Evesham, and the many changes that have taken place here over the last century and a half. The running time is 53 minutes approximately. Produced in association with the Evesham Journal to commemorate their 150th anniversary.
