Cannock Chase The Way We Were

The 20th Century brought dramatic changes to the way we live. The tin bath in front of the fire, dirty oil lamps, toilets in the garden, horses and carts and deliveries by the coalman were all consigned to history. This was also the first full century to be captured on film, which gives us a unique opportunity to look back at the way we used to live.

This superb DVD uses newsreel footage to recall the events that shaped the 20th century, and archive film and photographs, combined with local newspaper reports of the time, to paint a fascinating picture of life in Cannock Chase and the surrounding towns from the 1920s to the 1960s.
